Ambitious expansion plans at the end of the crisis
- DBK remains faithful to Kandel and the administrative district
.
To be geared for planned, strong, future growth, in particular in the sectors of electronics and automotive engineering, David und Baader GmbH intends to purchase a larger property approx. 10 km away from its headquarters in Kandel to construct modern industrial buildings. This was a decision arrived at unanimously by the shareholders, advisory board and the general managers within the scope of their last joint meeting in March 2010.
In a first construction stage the activities of the two subsidiaries DBK electronics and Lüdtke Elektronic are to be combined on the new grounds by the end of 2011. It had become impossible to plan adequate capacities for these two subsidiaries on the original headquarters site.
In the years following this, further divisions and the administrative centre are to move into new quarters step-by-step.
The previous company grounds at the Kandel headquarters, where considerable investments had already been made and which had received its own access road last year as relief for the Rheinstraße and for better development, will accomodate, amongst other things, the corporate division furnace and plant construction, for which the course has also been set to sustainable expansion.
This sector will be expanded by buying up neighbouring properties and thus prepared for environmentally sound, further growth.
The original plan, to pool all DBK activities centrally at the location Rheinstraße, had to be abandoned for economic reasons after the acquisition of Lüdtke Elektronic on the one hand and within the course of the associated plans for the future on the other hand.
This clears the way to re-planning the front section of the DBK grounds (between Rheinstraße and Dierbachweg), in the medium term and in close coordination with the association of municipalities‘ administration, for new ways of utilization, which harmonise very well with the local character.
